1.825 metri di lunghezza, 84 di altezza e 26 di larghezza:
 sono queste le misure del Ponte di Brooklyn che il 24 maggio ha festeggiato
 il 137° anniversario dalla sua nascita. 
Costruito in acciaio e granito, è stato progettato da John Augustus Roebling
 (ingegnere prussiano naturalizzato statunitense) 
e realizzato nell'arco di 13 anni, dal 1870 al 1883. 
Ha richiesto la manodopera di 600 operai ed è costato 15,5 milioni di dollari.
 Primo ponte in acciaio della storia, ha vantato a lungo il primato
del ponte sospeso più grande del mondo.
 Uno dei simboli principali della città di New York, collega l'isola di Manhattan e il quartiere di Brooklyn attraverso il fiume East River.
